Styled for your body,
not a mannequin.
Most outfit suggestions ignore the person wearing them. aurelle's body shape intelligence understands your proportions, your structure, and the areas you want to highlight or minimise — then styles you accordingly.
aurelle's body scan uses a photo to determine your Kibbe body type and proportions, then feeds that into styling so outfits flatter your actual silhouette. The scan is ephemeral — the photo is analysed and only the resulting profile is kept. Body profile is available on Premium and Pro plans.
How it works
aurelle's body profile is built through a guided questionnaire — no photos, no measurements with a tape measure. You answer questions about:
- Height and general frame. Petite, average, or tall. Small-framed, medium, or broad.
- Body shape. Where you naturally carry width and volume — shoulders, waist, hips. aurelle maps this to recognised body shape categories while understanding that most real bodies don't fit neatly into a single box.
- Proportions. Relative torso and leg length. Waist position (high, natural, low). These proportions determine which hemlines, rise heights, and tucking strategies create the most balanced silhouette for you.
- Highlight and minimise areas. This is where body intelligence becomes personal. You tell aurelle which areas you want to draw attention to and which you'd prefer to de-emphasise. The AI respects your preferences without judgement — it's your body, your rules.
The questionnaire takes about three minutes. You can update your profile at any time as your body, preferences, or comfort level changes.
Kibbe-informed styling
aurelle's body intelligence draws on the Kibbe body type system — the framework used by professional image consultants to recommend silhouettes, fabrics, and styling details based on bone structure, flesh distribution, and overall line.
The Kibbe system goes beyond simple "apple, pear, hourglass" categories. It identifies 13 body types across a spectrum from sharp and angular (Dramatic) to soft and rounded (Romantic), with nuanced types in between — Soft Dramatic, Theatrical Romantic, Soft Classic, Flamboyant Natural, and more.
Each type has distinct styling principles:
- Dramatic types are flattered by long, clean lines, sharp shoulders, and geometric cuts.
- Natural types suit relaxed, unconstructed silhouettes with soft shoulders and flowing fabrics.
- Classic types look best in balanced, symmetrical designs with moderate proportions and refined details.
- Gamine types are enhanced by juxtaposition — mixing sharp and soft, structured and playful.
- Romantic types shine in soft draping, rounded shapes, and fabrics that move with the body.
aurelle uses your Kibbe classification to inform garment selection at a level most people wouldn't consciously apply. The right neckline for your bone structure. The hem length that balances your proportions. The fabric weight that complements your natural line.
Kibbe is a starting point, not a cage. The AI uses your body type as one input among many — alongside your Style Persona, colour preferences, and occasion context. If your Kibbe type suggests structured blazers but your style leans relaxed, the AI finds the overlap: a blazer in a soft fabric, perhaps, or a structured piece in a relaxed silhouette. Your taste always takes priority over theory.
Proportion balancing
The most impactful styling decisions are often invisible. The difference between "this looks great" and "something's off" frequently comes down to proportion — and most people can't articulate what's wrong, they just feel it.
aurelle handles this automatically:
Hemline selection
Skirt and trouser lengths that create the most balanced visual proportion for your specific leg-to-torso ratio. A midi skirt that hits at the ideal point on your calf. Trousers that break at the right length for your shoe height.
Waistline placement
High-waisted, mid-rise, or low-rise — chosen based on where your natural waist sits relative to your overall proportions. The AI recommends tucking strategies (full tuck, half tuck, untucked) that create the most flattering visual waistline.
Volume distribution
If your highlight areas are your shoulders, the AI suggests tops that add width or structure up top, balanced with streamlined bottoms. If you want to draw the eye to your waist, it creates hourglass silhouettes through belting, fit-and-flare shapes, or contrast between fitted and flowing pieces.
Neckline matching
V-necks, crew necks, boat necks, square necks — each interacts differently with your face shape, shoulder width, and bust. The AI selects necklines from your wardrobe that complement your specific frame.
Privacy first
Body data is among the most personal information an app can hold. aurelle treats it accordingly:
- Encrypted storage. Your body profile is encrypted at rest. It's processed only when generating outfit suggestions and never stored in plain text.
- Never shared. Your body data is never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never included in aggregated analytics. It exists solely to improve your styling recommendations.
- Never used for training. Your body profile is not used to train AI models. It's used only for your personal styling, in real time.
- Fully deletable. Delete your body profile at any time from Settings. The data is permanently removed — not archived, not retained. aurelle continues to work without it, just without body-aware suggestions.
- No photos required. The body profile is built from your questionnaire answers. aurelle never asks for body photos, selfies, or measurements that require a mirror or camera.
Body intelligence is optional. You can use aurelle without completing a body profile. The AI still generates excellent outfits based on your Style Persona, colour preferences, weather, and calendar context. The body profile adds a layer of proportion-aware refinement — but it's your choice whether to enable it.
